本泵型适用于煤炭、矿山、工厂及其它场合输送固体颗粒不大于1.5%（粒度小于0.5mm）、温度不高于40℃的中性矿井水或其他类似的污水。其中MD280-60、MD300-80、MD360-75，用于远距离输送矿浆或矿井排水，叶轮为背靠背对称布置，取消了平衡装置，介质的固体颗粒径不大于2mm，重量浓度不大于20%,水温不大于80℃。并且MD300-80型泵进口压力可达到10Mpa，可作为水力采煤增压用。
